Entry Requirements

The information on this page is provided as a guide. Please note, some courses may have different or extra entry requirements. For example, you may need a higher level of English Language, or you may need to provide a portfolio of work. Bangladesh

International Pathways Programme

International Foundation Year (IFY)
Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary Certificate with pass grades.

International Year One (IY1)
Senior School Certificate/Higher Secondary Certificate with good grades.

Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
No country specific entry requirement at this time.

Undergraduate

Students who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or the Equivalent to 65% of total GPA.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 79 and a minimum component score of 18.

Top-Up 

Students from NSU/AIUB/IUB who have successfully completed 81 credits of a recognised progression route.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 88 and a minimum component score of 19.

Postgraduate

Students who have passed the 4 years of BA/Bcom/BSc with a score of 65% overall.

Students from the following Universities will be considered with 55% in a 3-year degree programme: NSU, Brac, IUB, East West, AIUB. Bangladesh University of Professional. BUET. Other 3-year degree programmes require 65% overall.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 88 and a minimum component score of 19.


India

International Pathways Programme

International Foundation Year (IFY)
Completion of Year X with average 65% Completion of Year XI with average 50% Completion of Year XII with average 40%.

International Year One (IY1)
CBSE or ICSE with 50% average.

Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
No country specific entry requirement at this time.

Undergraduate

Business courses CU + CULC
For general Business courses, students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination (no specific subject requirements).

For Finance, Economics and Accountancy courses – students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination (with 60% in Maths OR Accountancy OR Economics).

EEC courses
Students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination. With 65% in Maths AND 65% achieved in another key subject relevant to the course applied for.
Note specific subject requirements for EEC courses below.

Core Engineering courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Physics/ Chemistry/ Electronics/ Engineering/ Further Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Computing/ Design Tech.

IT and Computing related courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Physics/ Computer Science/IT/ Computing/Design Technology.

Technology Engineering related courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Design Technology/Electronics

Electrical Engineering related courses:
Must have 65% in Maths AND 65% in one from Physics/Chemistry/ Electronics/ Engineering/ Further Mathematics/ Computer Science/Computing/ Design Technology
OR
60% overall achieved in a 3 or 4 years Engineering or Technology Diploma.

HLS courses
Students must achieve an overall score of 60% minimum in the Standard XII examination with a minimum of 65% in the key relevant subject; i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
60% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand)
OR
IELTS 6.0 overall with no component lower than 5.5 (except where course requirements are higher) and other acceptable SELT tests such as the Pearson Test of English (PTE).

Students not meeting the above can take the Coventry University English Test.

Top-Up 

Students must achieve at least 60% in a 2 year or 3 year full time University Degree OR 3 years of a Full time University degree with at least 55% OR * HND in relevant field with Merit profile (Mostly Merits or Distinctions).

Postgraduate

Students must achieve 60% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree or 55% in a 4 Year.Undergraduate Degree Students from the following Universities will be considered with 55% in a 3 Year Undergraduate Degree (unless applying for Health and Life Science courses): Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai (Madras), Anna, Amity, Andhra Pradesh, Aligarh Muslim, Pune, Bangalore and JNTU.

65% in Standard XII English language from certain examination boards only (Central boards, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttarakhand)
OR
IELTS 6.5 overall with no component lower than 5.5 (except where course requirements are higher) and other acceptable SELT tests such as the Pearson Test of English (PTE).

Nepal

Undergraduate

Students who have passed the 12th Standard with 65% overall and 65% in Maths and Physics.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 79 and a minimum component score of 18.

Postgraduate

Students who have passed 3 years BA with an overall score of 60%.

Students who have passed the 4 years BE/Btech with 55% overall or higher.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 88 and a minimum component score of 19.


Pakistan

International Pathways Programme

International Foundation Year (IFY)
Higher Secondary Certificate with pass grades.

International Year One (IY1)
Higher Secondary Certificate with good grades.

Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
No country specific entry requirement at this time.

Undergraduate

Students must pass the HSSC/FA/FSC with a score of 60% to 65% overall and 65% in maths and physics.

Students must also have an IELTS or Pearson PTE score of 6.0 with 5.5 minimum in each component or 70% in HSSC/FA/FSC.

Students to check prospectus/ website on which course requires Maths/physics/chemistry.

Associate Diploma in Engineering with an overall 58% or above for STAGE 1 ENTRY in relevant subject area.

Top-Up 

Students must complete 3 years of a 4-year bachelor’s degree with 55% overall from a recognised institution.
OR
Students must complete 2 years of a 3-year BA/Bcom/BSc with 60% overall from a recognised university.
OR
(Check University Website to determine 3 year or 4-year degree)

*HND in relevant field with Merit profile (Mostly Merits or Distinctions)

SZABIST - BA International Business (Top-up Year 3 ONLY: For CU Campus
Students should have completed- Stage(s) 1 and 2 at SZABIST.
Students are required to complete a minimum of 60 credits. PASS in all subjects with an average of 60% and above.

BA Global Business Top-up CULC Campus:
Students are required to complete a minimum of 60 credits. PASS in all subjects with an average of 60% and above.

The student must have completed two years full time study, which is the equivalent of 24 modules (72 credits) with an overall CGPA of 60% (2.4)

All other courses will require EM or faculty approval.

Do not refer to Faculty for BA Int Business Top Up (year 2 entry). Assess for another alternative business course for year 2 entry.

Postgraduate

Students must pass a three-year BA/Bcom/BSc with 60% overall from a recognised university.

Students must achieve an IELTS or Pearson PTE score of 6.5 with 5.5 minimum in each component or 70% in HSSC/FA/FSC.
OR
Students must pass 4 years bachelor’s degree with 55% overall from a recognised institution.
Students must also achieve an IELTS or Pearson PTE score of 6.5 with 5.5 minimum in each component or 70% in HSSC/FA/FSC.
OR
Students must achieve 60% overall from a 2-year bachelors and 2-year Master’s degree.
Students must also achieve an IELTS or Pearson PTE score of 6.5 with 5.5 minimum in each component or 70% in HSSC/FA/FSC.

For all LLM LAW courses:
Students must achieve 50% overall pass mark in the end of year/annual exam, mainly from the following Universities in Pakistan:

University of the Punjab
University of Karachi
University of Sindh
University of Peshawar

Students must achieve 60% overall pass mark from other Universities especially as most only complete the semester exams.

Students must have achieved a score in their IELTS or Pearson PTE of 6.5 with minimum 5.5 in each test.
OR
70% in English at HSC.


Sri Lanka

International Pathways Programme

International Foundation Year (IFY)
O-levels with average grades.

International Year One (IY1)
Completion of GCE A-levels OR Completion of high school education plus satisfactory completion of one year of additional study.

Master's Qualifying Programme (MQP)
No country specific entry requirement at this time.

Undergraduate

Students who have passed 5 O levels at Grade C including English and Maths and 3 A levels required by course and approved by faculty.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 79 and a minimum component score of 18.

Top-Up

Students who have passed 5 O levels at Grade C including English and Maths and pass the 4 years Higher National Diploma in a relevant subject with Merit.

Students who have passed a 3-year Undergraduate Degree in a relevant subject with 55% minimum overall score.

Postgraduate

Students who have achieved a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with an overall score of 55%
*Students completing the 3 Year Diploma in Physiotherapy from IIHS (International Institute of Health Sciences) can be accepted onto MSc Advancing Physiotherapy Practice subject to faculty approval and successful interview.

Students are required to have a UKVI IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill or TOEFL iBT with a score of 88 and a minimum component score of 19.
